Fledgling Artist

Learning to draw. Please bear with me.
Out The Window - View from the living room. Gray day on the slopes.
I’m not fond of this particular drawing. It lacks life. But in the process of drawing it I learned a lot. I’ve been drawing for only three months (when I bought myself an iPad mini and discovered the Paper app) and there’s so much to learn. I’ve always felt an urge to draw, but my own lack of experience and skill frustrated me. Thanks to the simple and intuitive nature of Paper and the ability to easily undo anything I don’t like, my desire to create has finally been given an engaging and enjoyable way to satisfy itself.
But creativity doesn’t bloom in a vacuum. To blossom and grow it needs others to appreciate the effort, and to provide inspiration and encouragement. The Tumblr community gives me that, and motivates me to continue experimenting, creating, and sharing.
So perhaps this picture lacks life. That’s okay; I’ll just draw another one. And maybe that one will sparkle with life. Or maybe it won’t but the one after that will. I don’t know. I only know that I’m finally creating and sharing my creations, and doing so makes me happy.
